CEBU CITY (May 12, 2015) — FILINVEST Land, Inc. (FLI) welcomed the move of Cebu City Mayor Michael L. Rama to review the traffic situation at Cebu IT Park, especially with three new access roads that will be opened along Banilad road.
Filinvest also disclosed that its Cebu Cyberzone BPO project within the Cebu IT Park has a traffic study that was presented to the Cebu City Traffic Operations Management Executive Committee in August 2013.
CITOM favorably endorsed the traffic plan and further recommended to locate the building’s opening along Geonzon Street, according to Michael Mamalateo, FLI AVP for BPO projects.
“CITOM already reviewed and posed no objection to the traffic plan of our BPO project in the I.T Park,” he said.
He noted that CITOM even specified in its recommendation to lay out the main opening along Geonzon Street to decongest the vehicular traffic along Salinas Drive,” he added.
“This is exactly what we followed to help the city in managing the traffic along Salinas Drive,” Mamalateo pointed out.
The FLI AVP also stressed that Filinvest fully supports the City’s traffic agenda.
He said the company believes that improving traffic conditions along Salinas Drive and Banilad Road will further attract more businesses o Cebu City.
The completed Tower 1 at Filinvest Cebu Cyberzone is expected to initially generate at least 4,000 jobs and eventually some 20,000 jobs when the four-building complex is completed in five years.
